Job Description

Purpose:
Work closely with accounting teams in South and North America in the consolidation of financial data and preparation of periodic financial reports under US GAAP, IAS and SEC standards including but not limited to accounting for non-controlling interest, intercompany eliminations, accounting for foreign exchange differences resulting from conversions of financial statements from local currencies into USD (reporting currency), preparation of statement of cash flows on a stand-alone and consolidated basis, accounting for unusual and complex transactions including accounting for revenues with multiple element arrangements. Assist segment and corporate management teams to assess financial requirements and implement solutions that meet reporting and business requirements.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the consolidation of financial and management data:
a) Perform the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation of financial information for all of the Company’s segments and subsidiaries located in South and North America.
b) Coordinate, plan and consolidate the preparation of consolidated results to ensure the month-end closing deadlines are met and financial statements and reported results are accurate and timely.
c) Assist in the consolidations of forecasts, operating and strategic plans.
d) Maintain a proficient knowledge of financial reporting software (Cognos) and analysis software tools.

Work closely with local accounting teams to ensure compliance of actual results with US GAAP:
a) Conduct and lead month-end financial statement reviews to ensure the actual results are reviewed on a regular basis and unusual and complex transactions are assessed for compliance with US GAAP.
b) Investigate unusual variances in actual results when compared to budget, forecasts and outlook and communicate exceptions to senior and executive management on a timely basis.
c) Assist local and corporate management in designing the appropriate internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act or equivalent.

Assume full responsibility and accountability for corporate cash and treasury functions including and not limited to building banking relationships, cash forecasting and modeling, monitoring free cash flows and investigating the differences between actual results and targeted free cash flows.

Develop and maintain appropriate technical accounting knowledge and stay current with recent accounting pronouncements and US GAAP.

Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested. Assist the Corporate Accounting staff with other monthly closing activities, including journal entries and analyses as required. Analyze and resolve accounting issues as required.

Qualifications

B.S./B.A. in Finance or Accounting
C.P.A.
3 to 5 years of diversified/combined experience in Corporate Accounting and/or Public Accounting function
Strong knowledge of MS Office Products
Experience with large ERP software packages
